Robert Milnes, a candidate for the Libertarian Party’s 2016 presidential nomination, today announced the creation of a new blog, ThePLASPlace (TPP). Milnes hopes to use the blog as a platform to spread his message in the aftermath of the reaffirmation of his ban from Independent Political Report (IPR), his favorite blog.
“This represents my efforts to elicit comments from readers and comment/reply myself,” says Milnes, 61, of Camden, New Jersey, “it is formatted from the same template as IPR and I have added a monthly Open Thread for any/all kind of comments, much like IPR.”
Two years ago, Milnes, who suffers from depression, was banned from IPR after repeatedly discussing his Progressive Libertarian Alliance Strategy (PLAS), which suggests third party Progressive and Libertarian candidates can win elections if joined together in fusion tickets. Last month, his bid to be reinstated to IPR was rejected.
The creation of a new blog represents a step forward for Milnes, who always felt the IPR community would allow him to return, But he does not want to stop there. He wishes to put his electoral strategy into motion, ideally, through a new political party, which he refers to as the Lexington Green Party.
Milnes envisions his new blog and party will lead to great change in America:
To me, the header image I selected represents a sunrise. The beginning of the end for the Democrats and Republicans via PLAS. The subsequent beginning of a new Progressive Age with the inclusion of the libertarians. The end of all oppressive governments and the beginning of a new age of supersophistication and gracefulness, science and technology, health and happiness, peace and prosperity.
Whether this vision becomes reality may depend on the success of ThePLASPlace.
